I will post more tomorrow. Right now though just want to give a shout out Happy Birthday to Nancy P. She opened her home to us in Bend Oregon while we prepared for the transition and eastward journey. Hope Erik and Brian make it a great day for you Nancy! Your birthday is on National Dog Day? Now you HAVE to get a dog!!! There’s your sign!!!!
As expected it was a BRUTAL day! The climb was INCREDIBLE! The views though, I bet tomorrow I will say they were worth it. It was beautiful and sunny when we started the day and crossed the line between Idaho and Wyoming. A few clouds later on and I think that just added to the views. When it is bright and sunny the landscape can look flatter.
We got some pictures of a plane crop dusting. Apparently this is the real meaning of crop dusting (not what we would do passing a group of girls in the hallway at school). Did I say “we”? No never, I mean what some of the guys we knew would do as they passed a group of girls in the hallway.
We stayed the night at the First Baptist Church. They were very kind to let us stay there. Just in case you are wondering – EVERY CAMPGROUND IS FULL THE WEEK LEADING UP TO LABOR DAY IN YELLOWSTONE! Yeah, we could squat in the wilderness, but there are bear!!! SERIOUSLY!
Thinking we may stay put here in Jackson Hole for a day. In 2 days we have another HUGE climb and even though Moran is only 30 miles and only a slow climb, there is nothing in Moran. Oh, sorry, there is a post office and an elementary school. That’s it. And it is on like a culdesack. Yeah, we will stay put tomorrow I think and get haircuts.
